Hi everyone! I just got home a few days ago from NYFW and wanted to share more details on the hotel we stayed at. As I mentioned in my previous post (HERE), I went to New York Fashion Week with my blogger friends Makenna, Alexa, Natalie, and Shelby. We chose the Omni for a few reasons, but I wanted to share our overall experience so you can decide if this is the hotel for you when visiting Manhattan!
Location/ Neighborhood
The Omni Berkshire is located on 52nd street, between Madison and 5th Avenue. It may not mean much to you unless you know the area, and lucky for me I spent 4 years of my life living in the city!
This neighborhood is technically Midtown and is located near the 6 train and N Train. Both of which bring you almost anywhere uptown or downtown!
Madison and 5th are also very well known for their amazing shopping. They have everything from Top Shop and Zara to Louis Vuitton and Bergdorff Goodman. There’s a price point for every shopper, so definitely don’t feel discouraged if you can’t spend on Cartier (I can’t either girl!!).
Central park and St. Patricks Cathedral are also walking distance (you can see the church from the Hotel Roof Deck, which is incredible!).
Room
For the 5 of us, the hotel was generous enough to provide two rooms. However, these weren’t average rooms! They offered us their huge one bedroom suite, and a large studio suite, as well. We had SO much space, which is invaluable for New York City! My small 350 square foot studio apartment from my NYC days didn’t come close to comparing.
Amenities
The main amenity I love at hotels is room service! I’m all about splurging when I’m on vacation. I ordered breakfast one morning and it was hot and delicious. The thing I love about this hotel, is you can just put your order on the outside of the door by 2am and they serve you within a 15 minute widow per your request. LOVE that!
The Omni also has a restaurant attached to it, which is an added bonus if you don’t want to go far.
There’s a gym, patio deck overlooking St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and a full concierge service.
Staff
I can’t say enough about the staff! They were warm and welcoming (which isn’t always the case in Manhattan), and when we called for towels, they came within ten minutes.
I’m utterly impressed with the kindness and generosity of the bellman, as well. They were extremely kind and I swear it makes all the difference! Not to mention, they always said good morning and how’s your day. It’s silly to some, but makes me happy.
Overall Experience
Overall, I can’t wait to come back to New York and stay here! We love the location and are blown away by the hotel staff and room size.
