Hi Friends!! Despite it being postponed, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is officially here! I’m thrilled that Nordstrom offered a preview this year. You can see everything that will be included in the sale, create your wishlist, set your budget, and know exactly what you’re ready to buy!
I am HUGE proponent of setting a strict budget! PLEASE don’t go into debt over a sale! It’s never going to be worth it. I realize that I make money off of commissions from links, but I’ll sleep much better at night knowing that none of you overspent (seriously, please don’t – you’ll lose sleep at night over debt a lot more than resting well from a spontaneous purchase).
What that out of the way, let’s talk about the 10 products to shop at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

What I Learned from Previous Year’s NSale
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, it’s that this sale is the BEST time to buy staple closet items. Last year I budgeted myself at $1500. I learned exactly what was worth spending money on and what to skip!
DISCLAIMER: I realize that’s a big budget, but I also went into it knowing what I was going to buy would last me for years to come and that I would get tons of use out of the items I purchased. Plus, I cover the NSale as part of my full time job. It’s important to me to invest in items that I can wear AND also talk about for my job!
This year I’m still working out my budget. I’m still honing in on my massive wish list, and determining what is worth the investment.
Tips for Planning What to Buy
First and foremost, I’m going to help you plan! I’m talking all of the best tips and items worth investing in during the NSale. Be sure to go through the items below that I’m recommending, look through the Nordstrom website, scan your closet, and add to your wishlist!
I wouldn’t suggest purchasing duplicates of items you already have (for example, my ivory booties are some of my favorites! I saw several that are very similar that I love, but I’m going to leave them because I do not need two pair of similar shoes).
The Best Items to Buy
There’s so many items from clothing, to home, to shoes that I’d love to purchase! However, if there’s one thing I learned, shopping the sale is the best time to invest in items you’ll have for years to come!
My Favorites from Previous NSales
Every year the NSale has some amazing closet staples that come back year over year. These are things that I wear or use around the house frequently and would recommend! Before diving into this year’s sale must haves, here’s my favorites worth buying that I own from previous NSales:
Vince Camuto Booties
I wore these booties seriously SO much over the past year! From LA to NYC and everything in between, they were (and still are) a staple in my closet. I ended up with 4 different colors of the same booties, because they’re so comfortable and I wore them so often!
This years version is below (don’t miss it!!):
Barefoot Dreams Blanket
Meet the best blanket I’ve ever owned! So soft, I legit bought 3 last year and will 100% be buying a few more. We have 2 on our bed and want 2 for the couch. PLUS they make for the absolute best gifts. Full price they’re $180, and during the sale they’re $119 (solid one are $88). Grab them for gifts, for sure!
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings
Two years ago I finally got the Spanx Faux Leather Leggings, and since then I’ve acquired about 4 other pair in different colors/styles because I wear them so often! They’re comfortable, great to travel in, and wash well. I wear an XS and definitely would recommend them during the sale!
Cozy PJ Sets
I always buy at least 1 set of cozy PJs/Lounge Wear, because they’re well discounted and so cute. Definitely check out this years and see if there’s any you like! I end up keeping mine forever and wearing them year round.
Workout Sets
We all know that brands like Sweaty Betty and Alo Yoga come with a higher price tag, so every year I grab at least one workout set that I regularly wouldn’t splurge on. Zella is a great brand to get! They are long lasting and typically under $40 on sale.
Stuart Weitzman OTK Boots
Obviously these Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots are not cheap! Last year I splurged on them and wore them a TON. They’re still in perfect shape and I’ll have them for years.
Stylish Hats
I love a good hat! The NSale typically has the cutest hats (most under $40) on sale and they sell out REAL QUICK!
Here’s a few I’m eyeing:
Fall Staples
I’ve always invested in fall staple pieces during the NSale! Sweaters, turtlenecks, cardigans and sweater dresses are always a great deal.
Tory Burch Crossbody
I’m very picky with bags, as most of you probably know! Tory Burch is one of my favorite handbag brand. I’ve been eyeing a few bags from this year’s sale (below). Three years ago I bought the pink crossbody bag above and wore it a TON! Definitely pick up one while they’re up to $200 off!
Beauty Buys
3 years ago I purchased the T3 Hair Dryer during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and I still use it every week! It’s the only hair dryer I own, and is regularly a lot more expensive. I love mine! I would also suggest picking up the Single Pass curling iron. In fact, I have the exact same one and love it!
I generally don’t buy too many beauty items, just the ones I need or have wanted to try while they’re on sale.
The 10 Products to Shop at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
1. Shoes
Every year I spend about half my budget on shoes at the NSale! I realize that sounds like ALOT to spend up to $750 on shoes, and this year I will likely spend less, however, I always buy every pair of fall boots/booties I need! I also have found great sneakers and heels for weddings/occasions.
Last year I bought a few pair of the Vince Camuto Gigietta booties (as I said above), and to this day they are still my favorite!
This year, Nordstrom came out with a new version of them that I absolutely love! Full transparency, I don’t need them (still wearing last years versions which will last me years to come), so I won’t be ordering. However, if you missed out last year, get this years version! They are SO cute and will truly get you through from Fall to Spring.
2. Barefoot Dreams Blanket
THE BEST BLANKET EVER! I almost didn’t buy this blanket last year, which would have been a huge mistake! It’s the worlds softest blanket. I own three now. I will also be ordering one more this year, because we love it so much and have 2 on our bed, 1 in my office and want at least 1 more for our living room. They make for the best gifts, I highly suggest ordering at least one! If you don’t want the leopard, they are available in solid colors, as well. We have both!
3. Jeans
If you need jeans, now’s a great time to buy! Some brands to shop are Paige, 7 For All Mandkind, and Mother.
4. Handbags
I would check out Longchomp and Tory Burch for bags! It’s such a good time to grab a bag you need at a good price.
5. Cardigans/ Sweaters
Cardigans and Sweaters are items that will get you from Fall through Spring! I typically pick up a few staple sweaters and one or two cardigans that are unique (aka different than I already own!).
6. Leather Jacket
If there’s one thing I cherish in my closet, it’s my leather jackets. I have two styles, one I’ve owned since 2009 (leather lasts forever), and another that I bought from the NSale years ago. If you don’t own a leather jacket, there’s some cute ones this year!! Definitely grab one.
7. Fall/Winter Coats
When I lived in NYC, I needed both Fall & Winter coats to get me through! I despised spending a lot of money on winter puffers, but knew I needed them. Now that I’m in AZ, Fall coats get me through the year! It’s the best time to pick up what you need.
8. Robes & Slippers
If you follow my IG stories, you know I’m constantly wearing slippers around the house! I like to invest in a couple pair a year (since I wear them so often). The sale is the optimal time to get a higher end pair (like Ugg!), at a fraction of the price. I also wear robes every morning. I spotted a few good ones to share!
9. Christmas/ Holiday Gifts
Last year I picked up a few home items (blankets, candles, etc) ahead of time. It ended up saving me money and time/headaches later on!
10. Any Other Items You Need
If you need workwear, beauty tools, makeup brushes, or stuff for your kids or guy, grab it during the sale!
What I Love So Far
I’m still breaking down exactly what I’m buying, but for now these are some pieces I’m highly recommending! Stay tuned for more NSale posts!
