MAJOR PSA: It is almost FALL!!! With the heat wave going through the country I know it is hard to believe, but September really is actually here and fall is around the corner. I am a huge sucker for jeans, boots, sweaters and maybe a few PSL’s! Each of these 5 are must-have fall transitional pieces.
I am sure all your favorite retailers have started putting summer items on sale and bringing in all the new fall inventory!
It can be hard (and expensive!) to buy new items for each season. What I have found to work best is picking 5 staple items to buy that refresh your closet, but work easily to create a ton of different outfits.
Today I’m sharing the 5 Fall transitional pieces you need in your closet!
5 Fall Transitional Pieces You Need
The five transitional pieces you need for fall are:
I have picked out a few of each item from the list above to share with you guys – they are all affordable, in stock and great fall pieces. Let’s break it down!
Booties
Who doesn’t love a good pair of booties? They dress up any outfit, but are way more comfortable than a heel. I suggest always having a neutral pair in your wardrobe (tan, carmel, black, etc.). I have picked two out to share with you.
The Vince Camuto Gradina Heel Bootie and a killer pair of snakeskin booties from Walmart for $27! The snakeskin may be one of my favorite finds this fall. Be sure to check out the Vince Camuto Gigietta booties from last year, stock is low – but if you wear a less popular size, you may be able to score a pair for $60 bucks.
Spanx Leggings
If you haven’t tried the Spanx faux leather leggings, you are missing out! They are a staple for fall and winter, trust me.
Here are a few outfit ideas for you:
Knee High boots & Cardigan
Tennis Shoes & Sweater
Dressy Top & Heels
Flat Boots & Crop Sweater
The list goes on and on. The classic faux leather is on sale for $65 during the Nsale, and if you already have those or something similar, check out the faux moto leggings for something a little more spicy!
Urban/Felt Hat
I love a good hat day! Why? Because that usually means I don’t have to wash my hair :)!
Hats are a fun accessory to add to any outfit that can totally change the look. Hats can vary in pricing – I have a selected a tan packable hat from Walmart @ $56 and a burnt orange hat from Amazon @ $17. Don’t be afraid of bold colors! They can be paired with patterns, other solids, etc.
Cardigan
Cardigans are perfect for that in-between weather. Too warm for a jacket, but too cold to go jackets/sweater-less! I selected a knee-length grey cardigan from Walmart, it is super affordable at $14 and it comes in black and light pink. Second, I picked a little bit of a chunkier sweater – comes in 8 colors and it’s only $25! I love the dusty blue color, it adds a pop of color to your outfit, but isn’t hard to match with your top/pants.
Neutral Jacket
Living in Arizona my months to wear a jacket are pretty slim (Oct-Feb)! Since I don’t get as much use out of jackets, I like to stick to solid colors that can easily match a variety of outfits. I picked out one leather and one suede jacket to share with you guys – pick whichever you think you would get more use out of! The TopShop jacket is so cute and comes in black and white!
The suede jacket is the exact one I purchased years ago at the NSale It is a little pricier, but worth every penny It’s timeless and comes in a tan and mocha color. I am loving the mocha color (Road Trip) and truly think it would get a ton of use.
I hope this helped you find a few new pieces for fall! Sometimes more is less – invest in a couple of good pieces and find new ways to wear them. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for the cooler temps and fall traditions!
