This is my year of affordable shopping! I splurge on nice handbags and shoes, but for clothes, I try to stick with under $50 for tops and under $100 for dresses and pants. Amazon has been a huge staple in my world for some time, and recently I started shopping for clothes via Prime.
This week I posted a try on session in my Instagram stories of a few Amazon pieces I ordered last week and you guys LOVED it! I got a handful of DMs and a ton of you guys let me know you bought the items, so I knew I had to share on AlwaysMeliss.com.
Amazon is one of the best (but also riskiest) places to shop for inexpensive clothing. There’s a few things I look for when shopping on Amazon for fashion pieces:
1. Style – Does it fit my aesthetic?
2. Price – I’m typically looking for the under $30 items when shopping on Amazon (what can I say, I like a good deal!)
3. Reviews with photos – The best thing to look for on Amazon when you’re shopping is photos and reviews! If an item has less than 4 stars and a handful of reviews with no photo, I steer clear. Photos allow you to see how something fits, helps determine sizing, plus you can get an idea of quality. I realize when I shop on Amazon the quality isn’t the same as shopping at a department store, but it’s often a fraction of the cost!
4. Prime – the item absolutely has to be on Prime! I love being able to get something within a matter of 2 days. After weeks (sometimes months) of waiting for items that aren’t a part of Prime, I often forget I even ordered them! Prime is essential.
With those in mind, I picked up the below pieces and couldn’t wait to share with you!
The Latest from Amazon Prime
I spotted this henley and fell in love with it! I’ve seen several similar tops at Urban Outfitters and Pink Lily, but this one was only $18. I had to have it! It comes in about 10 color options, and I’m going to get a couple more.
I ordered a size Small and it’s a bit over-sized, which I love. My jeans have been worn on repeat (check out my Valentine’s Day post, perfect for a casual VDay), and I’m wearing my regular size. These flats are my go to lately! Super comfy and they’re great year round. I’m wearing my regular size, 6.5. They come in a few colors, and I also loved the olive!

I spotted this under $30 pink and white Sherpa on prime, and had to have it. I got it in a small, and it fits exactly as expected. The sleeves are a bit shorter than normal, and I think a medium would have solved that. I would have been fine with a medium, and just worn it over sized.

I can’t wait to get this $18 top in other colors! It’s perfect year round. I thought it was cute with the faux fur vest, so I wore this look out to dinner the other night!
