What are the 3 Best Nude Lipsticks?
Nude Lipstick is by far my go to for every outfit and occasion. There’s nothing like finding the perfect shade to complement your look. I’ve purchased hundreds (no, this is not an exaggeration) of nude lipsticks, spent way too much money, and loathed the terrible color and consistency of so many contenders.
There’s a few things that goes into finding the perfect nude lip shade. First and foremost, the color! Second, the consistency (or formula), and third the wear. I want to know that the color is perfect for my skin tone, the consistency is hydrating and soft, and the lip color is long lasting.
After years of searching, testing, and tossing, I finally found the 3 BEST Nude Lipsticks on the market! To note, these are three products that I have been using for months and one even for years.
1. Myth – MAC Satin Lipstick
I purchased my first Myth years ago when I was in college, and literally was obsessed right from the get go. The lipstick color looks incredible on, it’s insanely soft, and it goes with every single makeup look I create. You can wear it alone, under a gloss, or with a liner. No matter how you style your lip color with Myth, it looks incredible! Often times, when I have a colorful gloss, I put Myth on under, and it makes the gloss color more vibrant. You literally cannot find a better nude lipstick than MAC’s Myth Satin Lipstick!
Color
Myth MAC Lipstick (HERE) has a semi matte finish, but is extremely pigmented and glides onto your lips in the exact color you see.
Consistency
MAC’s Myth Satin Lipstick is ultra soft and smooth. The soft consistency is easily applied, as well.
Wear
Myth Satin Lipstick is a light, neutral lipstick that glides on softly and is extremely moisturizing. It lasts until I eat, so on a scale from 1 to 5, I would say it’s about a 3.5 for overall wear. I only rated it lower, because it doesn’t last as long as a liquid lipstick, however, don’t be fooled, if you don’t eat or drink it is a 5/5!
It doesn’t stick, which is fantastic, and it also doesn’t smudge or crack.
2. Namaste –Â Tarte Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint (Similar)
When tarte launched their Creamy Matte Lipstick Collection, I immediately sprinted to Sephora to check the colors out. The sales girl said that all the Sephora girls were lusting over Namaste (similar color HERE), and they only had one left… clearly I had to have it! Best decision ever, because this color is insanely gorgeous, ultra smooth, and long lasting.
Color
The color is a super pigmented natural nude, that gives the appearance that you’re not wearing lipstick. This is exactly what I want when I wear a dramatic smokey eye, or when I’m heading into an important business meeting.
Consistency
Tarte describes the product as lightweight and moussey, and it certainly owns up to it’s description! The consistency feels like you took your lipstick and threw it into a kitchen aide. The one downside, is it’s not easy to apply this consistency perfectly, so I highly recommend lining your lips first. This helps seal in the lipstick and have perfect placement.
Wear
This ultra gorgeous nude lipstick is extremely long lasting! When I put on the tarte Namaste (similar) Creamy Matte Lip Paint, it does not move.
3. Child Star – Too Faced -Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick
Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick (check it out HERE)
Color
This color is literally everything! The nude, with a hint of a taupe color is rich, yet matte. It complements literally every look and outfit. I cannot get enough of this Matte Liquid Lipstick in Child Star!
Consistency
Too Faced’s Melted Matte collection is extremely long wearing. However, I do find it can be slightly drying (naturally my lips get very dry). Prior to applying, I use chapstick (like THIS or THIS), and the color still lasts all day. Bringing me to…
Wear
As mentioned above, Child Star literally lasts all day. I’ve noticed around the 6th hour (and maybe two coffees and lunch deep), the nude color starts to appear slightly faded. That’s a super long time for any lip color to last, and it absolutely does not crack or roll (gross).
Honestly guys, I can’t rave enough about Myth, Namaste, or Child Star! Each has a unique color and consistency, but they are all incredibly versatile and wear beautifully.
