One of the best parts of a good quality straightener, is that you can use them for so much more than just flat ironing your hair. Traveling frequently and carrying on luggage, means only packing one hot tool. My Amika ceramic straightener is the best tool for straightening, curling, and waving my hair! in fact, curling your hair with a straightener gives you an incredible look, and it’s very easy to do.
I wear my hair curled probably 1-2 times per week. Naturally, my hair is quite wavy (making me insanely jealous of my twin sister’s flawless straight locks), but not quite wavy enough to look nice if I let it air dry. My go to hair style is waved (with a hot tool) or straight. Every time I use my Amika straightener to curl my hair, people ask how I do my hair. This tutorial is my primary method of curling/waving my hair. In this blog, you’ll learn how to get flawless, bouncy curls by just using your straightener!

Steps
- Start off with clean, blow dried hair
- I use Morroccan Oil Treatment before I blow dry my hair – this protects it and keeps it healthy and long
- Clip the top section of your hair back
- I start by pulling my hair back behind the temples of my face
- Take the straightener towards the top of your hair, and once you grip the hair with the flat iron, twist it to back and immediately pull down
- Repeat this method, while alternating the direction you curl the hair
- this will give your hair a wavy appearance
- if you prefer to have a fully curled look, go in one direction (outwards from the face)
- Be sure to curl the front pieces away from your face
- this creates a more open and effortless look
- Once you’ve completed the first section of the hair, undo the clip and continue with the rest
- continue alternating the direction of the straightener
- After all of your hair is curled, let your hair cool off for about one minute and then take your fingers and sift out the girls
Curling your hair using a straightener is just so easy to do! This look has become a go-to for me, as it takes just as little time to curl as it does to straighten.
