Easy everyday makeup is what everyone is searching for. If you’re anything like me, I’m super exhausted and lazy in the morning and an effortless (and almost lazy) makeup routine is a must. Quite frankly, putting on a fresh and natural everyday is a total work of art! I wanted to share my tips and tricks for beginners looking to do your makeup flawlessly.
Personally, I want my everyday, natural makeup look to be complete within 10 minutes. I created a tutorial (seen on my YouTube channel HERE) showcasing my everyday easy (and semi lazy) makeup look.
FACE
Primer
Primer sets the stage for longer lasting foundation and a smoother finished look. Use primer to set your face for your foundation to glide onto your skin.
- I love Laura Mercier Hydration Foundation Primer (HERE). This primer is super light weight and has no fragrance, which I personally prefer.
Concealer
Concealer is the best way to fully cover your redness and/or blemishes. I have very sensitive skin, and my absolute favorite is the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick (I use the color 2.5 Warm Sand).
- This Bobbi Brown stick (HERE) lasts forever. It can be used as a foundation or as a concealer, like I use in my tutorial (HERE)
- Just use this with a concealer brush (HERE and HERE)
- With your concealer brush, dab the foundation stick and pat onto your blemishes gently
Foundation
Using your favorite foundation, take a foundation brush and pump the makeup onto your brush
- I am obsessed with the Dior Forever Foundation (HERE)
If you want to see a product review on this, leave me a comment below!
- I use the Heavenly Face Bare Escentuals Brush (HERE) frequently
- This foundation brush tends to shed a bit
- Swipe the product from your t zone outward in a circulation motion onto your skin
- Make sure you use your brush and get the foundation a bit below your jaw line and slightly onto your neck
- You’ll eliminate getting a foundation line on your jaw by doing this
Under Eye Concealer
Using under eye concealer reduces the appearance of dark circles and brightens your face. I love the way under eye concealer really opens up my eyes.
- Swipe the concealer under your eyes (in a triangular shape), by the bridge of your nose, and above your cheekbones
- Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer (HERE) is the product seen in the tutorial
Blend
It is vital that you blend your foundation and concealer together.
- Use a damp sponge to blend the foundation and concealer into your skin
- As seen in my YouTube tutorial, I simply use just a sponge from a pack at CVS, but the Beauty Blender (HERE) is a great option, as well.
Set
By using loose powder to set your foundation, the makeup stays in one place. If you have oily skin (like me), you will absolutely need to set your powder, or you’ll see movement within an hour or two.
- I’ve been hooked on the Maybelline Shine Free Loose Powder (HERE).
- Loose powder sets the foundation, while fighting shine throughout the day
- This powder has a light, fine consistency and is not cakey, whatsoever
- The Maybelline Shine Free Loose Powder comes with a puff, which makes application a quick and easy setting process
- Dust off the excess powder with a powder brush
- Eco Tools creates incredible brushes, with super soft bristles for a very affordable price
- My favorite powder brush HERE

Bronzer
If you are not a bronzer gal, totally fine, skip to blush! I like a contoured look, and I never miss using bronzer.
- My absolutely go to favorite bronzer is Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer. Not only is the shade the perfect natural bronze color, but it also comes with a brush (HERE)
- Using the Hoola brush, dab the product and run it under your cheekbones, at your temples, on your forehead (by the hairline), under your jawline, and just on the sides of your nose
Blush
- Using the Benefit Dandelion soft pink blush (HERE), dab the blush brush into the pot and take the brush to your cheekbones, just above where you placed the bronzer
Highlighter
This step is fully optional. I love highlighter, so I almost never skip this step.
- I’m a sucker for Tarte. As a makeup company, they have incredible (and healthy) products, which are super gentle on my sensitive skin
- Go in with Tarte’s Exposed Highlight (HERE) with a small contour brush on your cheekbones above where you placed your blush, just below your brows, on your cupid’s bow, and on the tip of your nose.
EYES
1. Prime
- Do NOT miss this step, or you will develop an eye shadow crease
- Using the Maybelline Cover Stick (HERE), run the product across your eye Lids. Follow up by using your fingers to smudge in the poduct, coating your eye lids completely
- I cannot tell you how much I love the cover stick as an eye shadow primer, it works incredibly well (I never have creasing)
2. Eye Shadow
-
- Using the Hoola Bronzer, take a blending shadow brush and tap the brush into the bronzer
- Work the product into the crease of your eye in a circular motion.
- Using the same Tarte Exposed Highlighter, use the flat side of the double headed brush (similar HERE) and run the product along your eye lid, just below the crease
- Make sure to run some of the bronzer under your lower lash line, as well
- Gives the appearance of depth and a more open eye
3. Eye Liner
- One of my favorite eye liners is the Tarte Sex Kitten Liner (HERE)
- I love that it’s retractable and has a blender on the one end
- Line your upper and lower water lines
- For a more natural look, just go half way with the liner from the outer rim of the waterline inward (as seen in my tutorial)
4. Curl Lashes
This step is optional, however I find it makes my lashes look longer
- My favorite lash curler is from Tarte – I have an older version, but HERE is a similar one
5. Mascara
Feel free to use your favorite mascara. My personal favorite is Bobbi Brown’s Smokey Eye Mascara (HERE)
- Coat your lashes evenly with this mascara by stroking the wand up from underneath and above the lashes
6. Brows
Doing my brows has completely changed my look! I never miss this step.
- Go in with the Benefit Gimme Brow Gel (HERE), working this tinted gel on your brows to give you more full, natural brow look
- You can seriously shape your brows with this tinted gel, and it takes like 30 seconds. I cannot LIVE without this stuff you guys!! It’s been a huge life changer for me
Check out the difference below:
7. Lips
Lip Liner is totally optional, I just love the look of a natural lip liner.
- I used NYX lip liner crayon in SPL 860 (HERE)
- This is a super natural pinky color
- Finish off the look with Lacôme’s Juicy Tubes Ultra Shiny Lip Gloss in Tickled Pink (HERE)
