Hi friends! I can’t believe I’m just a couple of weeks away (or less) from giving birth to our miracle baby girl! Truly after the last three years and everything we’ve gone through, I never knew if we would get to experience this. I’m so grateful!
With that said, I needed help with what to pack in my hospital bag when I go into labor. I took to my amazing Instagram community and asked for help, and of course, you all pulled through! Today I’m sharing everything that I’m packing in my labor hospital bag.
What is a labor hospital bag?
Let’s start with the basics! I had no idea I needed to pack up to give birth. A labor hospital bag is a bag that expectant mothers pack with essential items they’ll need during their stay at the hospital for labor and delivery. It’s important to have this bag prepared in advance, as labor can start unexpectedly. By having your labor hospital bag ready, you’ll be more relaxed and focused on the arrival of your baby. My doctor told me to pack my bag at our 36 week appointment (I’m still adding a few things at 37 weeks, but the major stuff is packed).
I’d also recommend using this blog post to help you create a checklist! Having a labor hospital bag checklist is crucial for ensuring you have all the necessary items packed and ready to go. It helps you stay organized, reduces stress, and that way you don’t forget anything important during this exciting and sometimes overwhelming time.

The Bag
I went with the Dagne Dover Traveling Fam Kit, which includes three bags (a diaper bag, large shoulder bag, and belt bag). They’re all a neoprene material, and super light weight, but fit everything you need for a few nights! Highly recommend. Try code MELISSA20 through 10/2023 for 20% off the entire site.
