Holiday Season is here, and if you’re anything like me, you avoid being a hostess at all costs! Sometimes, it’s not that easy and other times you want to have friends over for dinner and drinks.
Whether you’re hosting family for the holidays, or friends over for New Years, it’s important to have the foundation for a successful evening.
Setting the foundation is key. You need to have a clean home, with beautiful decor, yummy food, and tasty drinks.
Christmas is just a short two weeks away, and New Years is also right around the corner. Many of you will host friends and family and
I’m sharing exactly how to be the hostess with the mostess, so your guests leave with full bellies and happy memories!
The Hostess Guide
Dress To Impress
As a fashion blogger, I’m always hyper aware of my outfits. You don’t have to be be over the top, but I believe when you look good you feel good!
If you’re hosting a holiday party, put on your favorite jeans and sparkly top, or holiday dress (depending on the attire) and do your makeup a little bit extra! My husband and I are both very casual people. Anytime we host people, we’re always casual.
Here’s a few holiday look ideas for the Hostess!

Being totally real, I’m never that person who gets excited to decorate for a holiday! I totally find it to be inconvenient, however, there’s something so magical when it’s done!
When I go on Instagram, I find myself getting lost in the winter home decor! It blows me away when girls transform their homes into a winter wonderland. If I’m hosting, I am absolutely dressing up my living room!
Consider the season. If it’s winter, go with holiday warm blankets and greenery. We don’t celebrate Christmas, but it’s awesome to have the greenery and for our friend who do, they sincerely love and appreciate the decor.
When summer rolls around, we love having backyard BBQs and pool parties, we decorate for that.
Here’s some winter seasonal decor that I recommend:

It’s always about the food! I once went to a holiday party that literally only had a few appetizers, and I was gone in an hour. There’s nothing worse than being a hungry guest, so get ahead of that and blow your guests away with food!
It’s not about being gourmet, but have options! My brother-in-law is a chef at one of the top five restaurants in New York City. I have a LOT to live up to (and trust me, I can’t live up to that!), so when we have people over I compensate for my lack of kitchen skills by having tons of appetizers.
I always buy beautiful serving plates and fill them with cheese, meats, fruits, and dips. That’s all you need to get the night started right!
I love doing buffets, and will often just have a full buffet of dinner options, followed by yummy desserts. Options are key! That way if someone doesn’t like something, or has allergies (guilty!), you have plenty of food for them.
Also, keep those drinks flowing! Have a full bar.

The best holiday parties have amazing food and some entertainment! You can impress your guests with having some fun games and even sharing a slideshow of pictures on your TV.
Remember, it’s all about being simple but impressive!

If you’re hosting, have party favors! It’s a nice way of saying Thank You for coming. You can spend a minimal amount and still leave everyone with a sincere Thank You gift.
