Hi friends! For the past two months I’ve been working on a HUGE home office transformation and I’m so excited to finally be able to share the entire room with you!
I’m also thrilled to share that I teamed up with Troy Lighting on the lamp I was eyeing! Huge thank you to them for sponsoring this post!
Before
Before the transformation, this was a guest room. We used this room maybe 5 times for guests in the past four years, and all of the furniture was from 2011 when I was living in my NYC studio apartment. It was horrendous (I’m totally find with admitting that).
Both my husband and I work from home full time, so an office space has been long overdue! We were going for a light and bright, yet warm and welcoming space that is conducive to a good working environment.
I searched high and low on Pinterest and a dozen other sites to get inspo, and do research for affordable products that went well in the space.
Aside from getting my stand out lamp from Troy Lighting, I shopped at the following stores:
Troy Lighting
Target
West Elm
Wayfair
Amazon
Anthropologie
Home Goods
Ikea
Framebridge
To note, everything was kept to a budget, and I splurged on a few key pieces.
After
How amazing is the transformation!! The room truly went from dark and dingy to light, bright, and airy. It was exactly our vision.
There’s two items we repurposed: the window shades and the white Ikea desk. I’ve had the shades since I was living in NYC (they were perfect for my apartment), and I always loved them and kept them. I believe they were from Bed Bath and Beyond. I couldn’t find them online, but they’ve been through 3 moves and 2 room transformations already! Highly recommend going with neutral window treatments.
We don’t have a ton of closet or storage space, so we absolutely needed a dresser that could house our sheets and blankets. I found this one on Wayfair for under $500 and it comes fully assembled! The reason I love Wayfair so much, is because they truly stand behind their customer. If anything comes nicked or damaged, they ship out a new item immediately.
We adorned it with some plants, a faux cactus, a candle, and the table lamp from Troy Lighting (click HERE for the lamp).
The desk is an old Ikea desk that is no longer available. Here’s a few other affordable options that I would have used in this space.
For desk chairs, I wanted something comfortable and cute, but not bulky. I found this chair on Amazon for $99! It took 2 minutes to assemble and it does move up and down. Highly recommend this chair!
We absolutely loved the appearance of a double rug. The white rug is a 6 x 9 (8 x 10 for this space would have been too big) and we accented it with a 4 x 6 colorful rug from Wayfair. The other one I was eyeing has more blue tones, but on Instagram stories you guys helped me vote on the more orange one!
The corner shelf is actually my favorite. I splurged slightly on this one, the shelf was $240. We had a very narrow space, and most of the bookshelves I saw were either too wide, or not the aesthetic we were going for. The white and gold can also be used in many different spaces. Since it’s versatile, I could see putting it in other rooms if we ever we move, as well.
Have you ever heard of Framebridge? If not, you need to check them out! Since we live in Arizona, I love cactus and desert accents. When I spotted these under $7 digital prints, I bought them and uploaded immediately to Framebridge!
Finally our floor length mirror! Being that my full time job is blogging, I love having floor length mirrors in every room. It’s another space with a huge window by it for good try on sessions. Plus the dogs actually love looking at themselves in the mirror (it’s SO cute)! The floor faux cactus was a perfect addition next to the mirror.
Conclusion
I hope you love our Home Office transformation as much as we do! I’m thrilled to have a space that we can both use for a conducive working environment.
