Hi friends! Coincidentally my husband and I practically share a birthday! His birthday is May 19 and mine is May 29. We wanted to celebrate together, so we went on a staycation at one of the most magical resorts in Paradise Valley called The Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa.
The Sanctuary is located just a mile or two outside of Scottsdale in Paradise Valley, and it sits on Camelback Mountain. My best friend actually got married at this resort. It’s incredibly romantic and unlike any other place I’ve ever stayed!
The resort is quite intimate, and every room feels like a private villa. We had a one bedroom suite, and I can’t even tell you how much we loved it! The bed and pillows were also extremely comfortable!
Here’s a few photos from our room:
I have to admit, one of the reasons we wanted to stay at The Sanctuary is because of their restaurant, Elements. Elements faces Scottsdale’s most beautiful mountains, and you truly do not get a more stunning view of the city from anywhere else! We had a 7pm dinner reservation and watched the sun set over a glass of champagne. It’s truly magical. We’ve eaten at Elements several times (and have done two New Year’s evenings there), and it’s just incredible!
For dinner, I ordered the filet with crab meat and Jesse had the rack of lamb (which was the special for the evening). We did have an appetizer, which was tuna tar tar. I’m also a huge rock shrimp fan, and I saw one of the sides was rock shrimp rice… it was mouth watering! Seriously the best rice I ever had! The portion was enough to share with four people. It’s a very generous size side. For dessert, we ordered the coconut creme brûlée (SO freaking good), and Jesse had the macadamia nut sorbet pie (I can’t remember what it was exactly called). He loved it!
The resort also has activities daily, plus a full spa, pool, tennis courts and more. I highly recommend The Sanctuary if you’re looking for somewhere in the Scottsdale area to stay!
Check out my local guide – almost everything I love is nearby!
xoxo, Melissa
