Happy Thursday friends!! Let’s talk about working out at home. The struggle can be real and I’m diving into home workout motivation made easy!
Let’s be real, there are two types of people: those who love working out at home, or those who would rather watch paint dry! I am so the second person. I’m a total group fitness gal! I enjoy fitness classes, having a schedule, and someone else teaching because it holds me accountable.
With gyms being closed the past few months, I was struggling to find motivation to workout. The beginning was tough for me, but I have gotten into a routine so today I’m sharing my favorite apps and workout must haves to give you easy home workout motivation tips!
Check out my tips or working from home on this blog post!
Home Workout Motivation
Apps To Download
Paceline Fit
Paceline fit is an app that PAYS you to workout 150 minutes weekly! It’s is one of my more recent finds, and I cannot believe I didn’t start using it sooner. Who doesn’t want tohave an app that PAYS you to workout!? You exercise 150 minutes a week, and then you get a “point” towards a variety of gift cards. Save up your points for bigger gift card options. I just claimed a $5 gift card to Target!
Normally there is a waiting list to join, but you can use code: MELISS to bypass the wait list!
Obé
I first downloaded the app in 2018 after taking one of Megan Roups classes in person. She lives in NYC, so the best way to take her class was via the Obé app. I just recently started using Obé again and I am loving it! The instructors on Obé are phenomenal!
Obé is an online/app based program with access to over 4,500 workouts. They have 14 live classes daily (helps with accountability!) and on-demand classes for those who need more flexibility. You can find everything from HIIT to pilates to yoga, dance-cardio, and more.
Pricing: Monthly – $27 Quarterly – $65 Annual – $199
Use code: MELISS30 for 30% off!
Peloton App/Bike
My Peloton was actually a wedding gift (full review HERE) and I love it! This is an exception to my dislike of working out at home because they really make you feel like you are in a class!
Peloton has daily live classes, plus a huge library of on-demand classes! They are constantly adding new content, workout class types, etc. I know that the Peloton bike or tread is an investment, and for a lot of people it could be out of reach. I just wanted to include it, because it’s something that has helped me significantly!
You can actually download the Peloton app without owning their bike or tread! The app works on iPhones, Roku, Firestick and most recently -AppleTV! For $12.99 a month, you can get access to all the live classes as well as everything in their library.
I have a handful of friends who have purchased a more affordable spin bike (Amazon, Dick’s, Costco, etc.) and use their TV, phone, laptop to take classes. If you aren’t into cycling, you can use the app for strength classes, yoga, dance, outdoor running, power walking, etc. There really is an option for everyone!
Cute Workout Gear
I’m always more motivated by cute workout outfits! Check out a few of my favorites in the shop-able collage below:
Workout Must Haves
Workout Outfit – a new workout outfit always motivates me! I linked some of my favorites for you guys above (NSale, Target, Lululemon, and Walmart).
Apple Watch
My apple watch seriously holds me accountable and allows me to keep track of my exercise! (PS – HSN has the Apple Watch 3 for $339 HERE).
Sneakers
I wear sneakers pretty often so I like to have a variety of different kinds/styles. I have linked a few of my current favs at a few different price points so you can pick what suits you best.
Headphones/ Speaker
headphones or a speaker are crucial for me, good music helps the time pass. For me, the louder the music/class, the better!
For those of you who are used to going to a gym, I know the adjustment during COVID has been tough! Use these apps and list of must haves to make working out at home easier for you! Remember that any movement is better than nothing, even if it’s just a walk or half of a class. Getting yourself moving is so important for mental and physical health. Stay healthy friends!
