Hi ladies! It’s officially spring (A.K.A #weddingszn) and I couldn’t be happier. I love a spring wedding because the weather is usually just right, the flowers are in full bloom, and of course – the fashion trends are always fun (who doesn’t love floral dresses?) Let’s start with a quick run down of what “cocktail attire” refers to (not everyone knows!) Usually, what your hosts mean by this is that it’s semi-formal and typically a late afternoon/ early evening gathering. BLACK TIE DRESSES
A great way to differentiate formal from black tie is the word sophisticated. This includes floor-length (or at least a maxi), muted (avoid bright, bold colors) and modest gowns. Minimalistic is key! For spring black tie events, I’d go for an airy lightweight gown. A halter neck dress is a great way to not wear something too revealing while keeping it stylish!
