Simple Everyday Eye Makeup Routine (for Beginners)
Hi Everyone!
Today I wanted to share my go to everyday eye makeup routine. I always try to keep my daily makeup routine simple, and honestly, it’s great for beginners!
My friend’s are always asking me to do their eye makeup for events, whether it’s just a night out or for a wedding. My best girlfriend, in particular, really wanted to see an everyday eye makeup tutorial. Hence, the creation of this video.
Traditionally I stick with nudes and brown tones for my daily makeup look, so that’s what you will see in the video and details are below. Check out the video HERE on YouTube. This YouTube video is a super simple everyday eye makeup routine, which is great for beginners!
Steps to a Simple Everyday Eye Makeup Routine
PRIME & SHADOW
- Start off with priming your eyes
- I used the Maybelline Cover Stick in Ivory (HERE)
- The Maybelline Cover Stick is actually a concealer. However, it works insanely well and holds eyeshadow in place all day
- Eye Shadow
- I used my absolute favorite eye shadow palette (by Tarte) – the Tartlette Matte Eye Shadow Palette (HERE)
- Using an eye shadow brush (check out this set) and go in with the color “Free Spirit”
- Free Spirit is a gorgeous matte light beige color, that is perfect for the first layer of a natural eye makeup look
- Next, take a blending brush and dip it in the color “Force of Nature”. Work this color into the crease, holding the brush lightly and not pressing too hard
- Then take the color “Dreamer” and work that into the corner of your eyelid, where the crease meets your lash line
- This gives the appearance of more depth
- Using the color “Super Mom”, pat the shadow brush onto your eye lid, focusing on the center and area closest to your eye duct
- Finally take the color “Force of Nature” again, and use that underneath your lower lash line
- Using an eye shadow brush (check out this set) and go in with the color “Free Spirit”
- I used my absolute favorite eye shadow palette (by Tarte) – the Tartlette Matte Eye Shadow Palette (HERE)
LINER & LASHES
- Using the Revlon Color Stay Skinny Liquid Eye Liner in Black Out (HERE), begin lining as close as possible to your upper lash line, and in one swipe drag the brush towards the outer corner of your lash line
- I’m going for a natural easy look, so don’t wing, just finish the line right above where your upper eye lash line meets the lower eye lash line. Repeat on the other side
- Take your eye lash curler (and yes, this adds the appearance of longer lashes!), and curl both sides (this one is the one I use and love).
- Grab the Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara in Excessive Black (HERE) and coat your lashes
- I am obsessed with this mascara! The brush is incredible and helps work the product all over, and it’s just the perfect day to night mascara
- Finally, complete the look with some highlighter
- I use the Sephora Micro Smooth Baked Luminizer in “Light Beam” (sold out, but love this one)
- I always try to go for a lighter and more natural highlighter for my everyday look
- By adding this product under your eye brows & in your tear duct, your eyes just POP
- I use the Sephora Micro Smooth Baked Luminizer in “Light Beam” (sold out, but love this one)
