Hi everyone!! Last year, I shared How to Order a Healthy Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew at Starbucks and you all LOVED it! As much as I love pumpkin flavored *everything*, I’m also super excited about some of the wintery flavors Starbucks offers! Like many of you know, I’m not a huge sweets person, and typically, I just drink black coffee with a scoop of basically flavorless Mōdere creamer (HERE). Plus, I hate “wasting” calories on sweet drinks, so I figured out how to make some of my favorite holiday drinks healthier! Today I’m sharing How to Order 4 Healthy Winter Drinks at Starbucks Coffee.
Fall is almost here, and I’m sharing 4 must thave pre-fall jean outfits on this blog post!
1. Caramel Brûlée Latte
This drink is super tasty but not as healthy as you’d hope. Ordering it how it’s typically made will add 410 calories to your daily intake! If you’re ordering a grande, ask your barista to skip the whipped cream (which will drop 110 calories), use almond milk (or coconut milk if you’re allergic to nuts like me!) instead of 2% milk (which is 100 calories instead of 190), and only use 1 pump of caramel brûlée sauce (50 calories). Now, the drink is 260 calories total!!
Here’s how to order it:
“I’ll take a Caramel Brulee Latte, no whipped cream, sub almond milk, and just 1 pump of sauce”. Easy peasy and the calories drop almost in half!
2. Peppermint Mocha
A classic favorite!! This wintery drink is a whopping 440 calories when ordered how it’s usually made but…since we’re trying to stay healthy- I can get that calorie count down to 186!! Ask your barista for no whipped cream, substitute almond milk, only 2 pumps of peppermint syrup and to use “Skinny” mocha syrup instead of the regular mocha sauce. With those substitutions, the drink will be down to only 186 calories and will still be super tasty!!
Here’s how to order it:
“I’ll take a grande peppermint mocha, no whipped cream, sub almond milk (OR fat free milk), and 2 pumps of skinny peppermint mocha syrup”.
3.Iced White Chocolate Mocha
You ladies know how much I love iced coffee!! Although all of these drinks can be made iced, I think this one stands out. The best part about ordering an iced version of any of these drinks is that you can substitute the whipped cream for cold foam! The iced white chocolate mocha is 420 calories and with almond milk as a replacement to 2% milk you’ll minus 90 calories and cold foam as a replacement to whipped cream you’ll minus 70 calories. And make sure to ask for only 1-2 pumps of white chocolate mocha sauce instead of 4 because each pump is 60 calories!
Here’s how to order it:
“I’d like a grande iced white mocha, sub almond milk (OR fat free or coconut milk), with half the amount of sauce and cold foam instead of whipped cream.”
4.Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte
Cinnamon gives me warm fall and winter vibes so I definitely am a fan of this drink!! But not a fan of the 300 calories so I figured out how to get that down to 210 calories! All you have to do is ask for no whipped cream then just substitute almond milk and ask for sugar-free cinnamon dolce syrup instead of regular. Also, if you want to replace the whipped cream with cold foam, it would only add another 40 calories so it’ll still be under 300 calories!!
Here’s how to order it:
“I’d like an iced cinnamon dolce latte, no whipped cream, sub almond milk (OR fat free milk), and sugar free cinnamon dolce syrup.”

Here’s a few other tips on how to order Starbucks drinks healthier!
- Substitute nonfat milk from the standard 2 percent! Or opt for dairy-free options (almond, coconut or soy milk)
- Swap out any syrup for sugar-free syrup to save on calories
- Ask for less syrup or fewer pumps to reduce the sweetness and calories in any beverage.
- If your drink has whipped cream, ask for just a little whip or no whip (saves between 80 to 110 calories, depending on the size and type of drink).
- Replace whipped cream in iced drinks with cold foam (only 40 calories!)
- Opt for a Tall rather than a Grande or a Grande rather than a Venti!
Happy ordering friends!!
