Hi everyone! Spring, one of my favorite seasons, is here and if you’re like me, that means it’s time for a big spring cleaning! I actually love this time of year and decluttering, because it’s super therapeutic and I feel like when my surroundings are organized, my mind is too. If you’re ready for spring cleaning and all that it entails, you might be overwhelmed and wondering where to begin. Don’t worry – I got you covered! I broke down my tips into different rooms of the house. Today I’m sharing 10 Spring Cleaning Tips You Need for This Year.

BEDROOM
Tip #1: Clean out your closet – that’s right, this can mean getting rid of clothes you haven’t touched in a year. That’s usually my rule of thumb when I’m deciding what pieces of clothing can go, to make room for new spring pieces or to declutter entirely. Chances are, if it hasn’t been reached for in the last year, it won’t be getting any use in the year to come. Tip #2: Dust around and/ or under the bed! This somehow tends to get neglected throughout the year. If your bed is elevated, take a look under there…it may not be pretty! If your bed is not elevated, it can still use a dusting around the perimeter, trust me. I’d grab this Microfiber Extendable Feather Duster for the job. It extends up to 100″ and it’s under $15! Great for other areas in the house too.
Tip #3: Change the sheets. This is one of the most important elements to a great spring cleaning. Hopping into bed with clean, fresh sheets is heavenly and great for a better night’s sleep. Plus, if you have cotton pillow sheets, they may absorb bacteria, oil, and dead skin cells more easily which can cause acne. I recommend switching to silk pillowcases like this Hair & Skin Silk Pillowcases from Amazon. If you’re looking to refresh your bedding altogether, my go-to brand and recommendation is Brooklinen! BATHROOM
Tip #4: Use a tool like this 12 Inch Multi-Purpose Squeegee one to get your shower to sparkle! It has 2 sides, one with rubber & one with microfiber. Soap scum is pretty inevitable and builds up overtime. I’d recommend a solution of 2 cups baking soda to 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide to help with the scrubbing and dissolving it! A sparking clean shower is seriously underrated.
Tip #5: The sink, toilet, tub, mirror…basically the rest of the bathroom can definitely also use a deep cleaning. A great product to help with this is the Better Life Natural Cleaner with tea tree & eucalyptus. It doesn’t contain harmful ingredients that some other cleaners do plus it smells GREAT.
KITCHEN
Tip #6: Empty & clean the fridge. This can be a bigger undertaking but it is SO worth it. Throw out foods that are no longer fresh, toss anything (like leftovers) that have been in tupperware for too long, and take everything out to then give the fridge a deep clean. While you’re at it (when you finish cleaning) stock up on new, healthy foods and snacks! Opening a fully stocked fridge is a great feeling.
Tip #7: Organize & clean out the pantry. The pantry is another part of the kitchen where things can get messy. Old chip bags, dried up nut butters, you know the deal. Now is the time to go through every inch and clean it out! I recommend using bins & organizers like I use for mine. They are a serious game changer – click to shop below!
ENTIRE HOME
Tip #8: Vacuum. Everywhere. Even if you vacuum the house often, dust and dirt seems to creep its way back up pretty quickly. This is an essential step in your spring cleaning! My go-to for this job is the eufy RoboVac. It’s ultra slim & smartly maneuvers through & under furniture which means less work for you! I cannot recommend it enough.
FINISHING TOUCHES
Tip #9: Essential oils. This isn’t a cleaning step BUT it’s a must-do after you finish your spring cleaning session! I absolutely love this neutral Ceramic & Bamboo Essential Oil Diffuser from Amazon! It would look great in any space and it’s for a large room so the scent should fill any room enough. A scent like Fresh Linens is great for a fresh, clean and happy aroma.
Tip #10: Two words – makeup brushes. Don’t forget about these guys! This should absolutely be a part of your spring cleaning session. They should be washed every 2 weeks or so (depending on how often you use them) but if you haven’t done it in a while, now is the time. You’ll want to grab a makeup brush cleaner that won’t be too harsh on the hairs of your brushes, but will also get rid of all the buildup. The EcoTools Deep Cleaner is great for this. Plus, it’s under $10 on Amazon!
