Fit 6-7-8 | My First Dance Class
Last week my girl Erin (from A Wink and a Twirl) and I were invited to our very first dance class.
As a former gymnast and competitive cheerleader, I would say I’m a less than stellar dancer. Nervous was an understatement! I was 100% prepared to make a complete idiot out of myself.
When we walked in, we were greeted by this super outgoing and adorable brunette (who happens to be the owner) named Raquel. Let’s just say, I could tell she knew how to get a group of ladies (and one gentleman) ready to dance (or party, I really felt like I was at a dance party).
When we first started, being fully transparent, I was like “ok I’ll try this once, but I can tell it’s not for me”. The very first part of class was a quick chant, that instantly scared me… guys I said I was going to be honest! Chat was:
“Yes I’m Sexy
Yes I’m Fierce
Yes I got This
YESSSSS!”
I was like OH MY GOSH where am I, as I looked at Erin in fear…. and then EVERYTHING changed. After a quick warm up the, music got going and everyone literally broke out into a choreographed dance (like this scene out of center stage). However, I caught on in literally two seconds!
I’ve never felt more inspired in a class! Everyone was so confident, even if they didn’t get the steps right. I was dancing around like I’d been to class a hundred times, and probably making a million mistakes, but it was SO fun.
Half way through, Erin and I looked at each other (as we guzzled water), we were so sweaty and having seriously the best time!
At the end of the class, I clearly burned a ton of calories, but I also felt like I had just danced the night away to my favorite Camilla Caballo song (less the next day hangover).
If you have a chance and you’re living in Scottsdale, you absolutely have to visit Fit 6-7-8. I already have plans to go back!!
Also, your first month is only $30 (that’s like a nice dinner out… and definitely not even a cute shirt from Nordstrom!).
