Hi Everyone. By popular demand, I’ve FINALLY done a hair tutorial! I get a TON of questions on how I get perfect curls, so I knew it was time to share my hair routine.
I actually posted it live in my Instagram Stories this weekend, so hopefully you didn’t miss it. If you did, not to worry, this guide should give you a step by step on how I curl my hair everyday.
First and foremost, my hair is EXTRA healthy thanks to the Pantene Repair and Protect shampoo and conditioner. I did a blog post HERE on it, and my world has completely changed. YES the post was sponsored, however, this post is NOT sponsored and I’m a huge advocate for this product. It’s visibly shiny and much more healthy than ever before.
I wash my hair two to three times a week, which also helps it stay healthy. Over washing is never good for you! It drys out your hair and makes it brittle.
Anyways, onto the good stuff!
The Tutorial
Step 1
After washing my hair, I let it air dry for 15 to 20 minutes (sometimes longer depending on the day).
Once it’s more dry, I brush my hair out with my Kampalook detangling brush.
After brushing, I start to blow dry with my T3 Cura, and use my paddle brush and round brush (for the front of my hair) during the drying process.
Step 2
Separate your hair and clip the top half in a bun on top of your head, so you can focus only on the bottom portion of your hair.
Once clipped, I set my 1.25″ T3 barrel on the 3rd highest heat.
(there are 5 heat settings, but I find the 3rd is hot enough for the style curls I like)
Begin to curl hair AWAY from your face, starting the curl towards the scalp.
Be sure to continue curling your hair AWAY from your face in both directions.
Some of the pieces in the back will curl one way and the others another way, and it doesn’t matter. They blend perfectly.
Step 4
Once you finish curling the bottom half, take out the clip and repeat with the top half.
Step 5
I prefer my hair to have straight bottoms, so it looks more natural than perfectly curled.
I take the curling iron and run it along the ends to create a straighter edge look!
If you prefer, you can always use a straightener for this! Stick to the bottom .25″ of your hair.
This set includes both of the hot tools I use, and is discounted for holiday!
Step 6
Once I’m completely finished with curling my hair, I let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes and then brush it out with my Kampalook detangling brush.
If you like to use hair spray, go for it! I’m just not a fan, I feel like it makes my hair crunchy and I only use it for special occasions. If I do need to use hairspray, I use this one.
It’s a pretty easy process, and I hope my tutorial helps! Don’t forget you can also follow my Instagram and LikeToKnow. It for everyday product recommendations. Feel free to email me with any questions!
xoxo, Melissa
