If you follow me on Instagram (@alwaysmeliss), you know that I am in a vicious cycle of redecorating, organizing, styling, etc. I love it! On any given day there could be a new chair, rug or wall decor arriving (sorry, Jesse!). I am all about finding affordable, quality pieces that don’t break the bank but give you the look you are wanting.
In the past year, we’re re-done the guest room (post HERE), dining room (post HERE), and living room lounge area (reveal/post coming soon!). You can check out all of my home posts by clicking this link.
Needless to say, it’s time to conquer our master bedroom!! I started scanning through Walmart to see what I could pull together from there – turns out I can put together the whole room on a tight budget! Today I’m sharing all the tips and tricks on how to style your bedroom on a budget.

How To Style Your Bedroom On A Budget
Before getting started, I took to Pinterest to get a ton of inspo! From there, I headed to affordable sites like Walmart, Wayfair and Amazon to find affordable pieces that complement my style. As I said above, Walmart ended up having everything I was looking for, at a fraction of the cost I anticipated.
Bed Frame
Walmart has a pretty big selection of affordable and simplistic bed frames, which I love because it makes them easy to style. I picked out the Zinus Wen Solid Acacia Wood Platform bed. It’s versatile, stylish and budget friendly (ranging from $105-$185 depending on the size). The simple wood look allows you to style the room several different ways, which also means that they bed could be a staple through several different redecorating phases (guilty!!).
Side Table & Lamps:
The side table is only $35! Honestly, the price is what caught my eye first. I love the matte gold look, and that these could be moved in several different areas of the house (it doesn’t scream “night stand!” – which makes it easy to move around and repurpose!).
I also spotted the chic grey ceramic lamp, which matches the neutral pallet I am going for. PLUS they are only $23! You can’t beat it.
Bedding
I love our current comforter, and this $59 version is almost identical! It comes with a duvet cover and two shames, which are all machine washable (this is a HUGE plus). I like to keep my bedding neutral!
Accent Chair
I am a sucker for a pretty caramel leather. This chair can easily be be used in another room, as well! It’s only $199, and most comparable chairs are over $500.
Mirror
I don’t know about you guys, but a full length mirror is a must for me! If you’ve followed me on IG for a while, you know I’m a sucker for a good floor length mirror.
There is nothing worse than staying in a room and there is no full length mirror (I usually end up standing on something trying to use the bathroom mirror, lol!).
I was drawn to the black frame and at the price of $80, this is a HUGE bargain. Another piece that can be repurposed into other rooms in the house as decor changes.
Area Rug
This rug comes in two different sizes (5’3”x 7’3” @ $94 and 7’10” x 9’10” @ $173). I love that its neutral but has a small pop of color! You can easily bring this rug into a living room, as well.
Decor
I like to keep my design and decor clean. I don’t like clutter/extra “stuff”. Here are some of my favorite decor pieces I found:
Artificial Plant – 37 Inch Cactus (I love a pop of color/greenery, I feel like it freshens a room up instantly!)
3-tier Shelves: These are the perfect size for a bedroom. I don’t like shelves that are too big because they get busy, and dusty! I think technically this is for a bathroom or kitchen, but I thought it would be cute with a throw blanket thrown over the towel bar.
Art – 3 panel neutral art for $90. Versatile, and adds some design to the room.
Gallery Wall Set – You will not believe the price is 6 for $16! Can’t beat that. The black ties in the metal on the mirror and wall shelving. Get these! You won’t find this price anywhere else.
Final Thoughts
Whatever room you decide to do next, spend some time researching pricing and options. My number one tip would be to pick out things that can be moved around the house or used in different “looks” and rooms – it allows you to redecorate more often without having to break the bank!
